Meet the experienced and friendly staff who make Vision Solutions the leading provider of vision care products and services in La Mesa, CA. All our staff go through a rigorous and continuous training program. We know that the first person you encounter in the office is probably our staff, so they must be supremely knowledgeable in order to answer your questions in a thorough and comprehensive manner.
Optical Boutique Manager, Optician
I have been with Vision Solutions for over 12 years. That means when you walk in I will probably recognize you. Speak to me in Spanish or English, I’m fluent in both.
It is my job to keep our optical boutique up-to-date. I meet with frame representatives and select frames that are stylish and well-made. We have found if we limit our inventory to high quality frames, everyone saves in the long run. You save because your frame stays in good repair and lasts a long time.We save because the frames stay in adjustment and rarely need repair.
I also work with our laboratory representatives to ensure that our jobs are being fabricated to our exacting specifications, that the quality is uncompromised and the jobs are completed on a timely basis. The labs tell us we are the “pickiest” office in town. We are proud of that reputation.
In addition to my job as optical manager, I also assist the doctors in performing patient medical tests such as corneal mapping, corneal thickness assessment, glaucoma testing and retinal imaging.
Heather E, BA, ABOC
OrthoK/Corneal Reshaping Liaison, Contact Lens Coordinator, Optician
I come from Florida where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of South Florida. While I still love anthroploogy I became interested in the optical field. I undertook special studies and completed my ABOC (American Board of Opticianry Certification) in 2015.
I am the newest member of the Vision Solutions team. My duties include ensuring that all our OrthoK patients receive concierge care. I am here to answer questions, schedule continuing care, and be sure there is 24-7 access to the doctors. I also inspect your contact lenses, resurfacing or deep cleaning them when needed, train new lens candidates, answer your lens-related questions and maintain the office inventory of diagnostic contact lenses. I also meet with the contact lens manufacturers to learn about new lenses, materials and solutions. This is a big job because the industry is changing so rapidly. Research brings us several new products each month. Like the other staff members, I perform your medical testing, schedule appointments, answer questions, adjust your glasses, and triage emergencies. Did I mention I am a fluent Spanish speaker? I hope to see you soon.
Optical Lab Manager, Optician
It is my job to meet with the optical laboratories to ensure that our office is receiving the highest quality service. We do not tolerate sloppy work. I also meet with the lens manufacturers to learn about the latest lens technology available to us. Digital surfacing now allows us super high definition vision. Advances in progressive and specialty lenses occur monthly. I take this information and provide the office with weekly updates.
I’m also a bit of a computer addict and help the office maintain its complicated computer system and social media site. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Aurora University and like Dr. Cauchi, I majored in psychology. This training has been invaluable in helping patient’s feel comfortable during their eye exam process.
